Citizens have shown at noon today, with five minutes of silence, their aversion against male violence and have taken "red card to the perpetrator" in a new concentration convened by the Association of Progressive Women "Victoria Kent" to protest this social scourge. The Association president, María Isabel García Revilla, said after mobilizing the need for "each and all of us actively involved in the fight against gender violence" and has asserted that "people who know a case of abuse women and do not report it, automatically become complicit by omission. She also regretted that women are 45 and died at the hands of their partners or former partners since the beginning of the year and has insisted that "we can not close our eyes and ears to this domestic terrorism". García Revilla has echoed the statements of the Minister for Equality, Bibiana Aido, publicly encouraging women who are abused to report their situation as "should not be afraid, because we have adequate equipment to protect their abusers, and it is imperative to know "that we all formed a common front to wrap and give them our support". She also announced the membership of the Association to the campaign "Blue Heart" against trafficking in human beings, driven by the United Nations and presented by the Ministry of Equality, and indicated that "Victoria Kent" has applied for inclusion on the Web resources for assistance to battered women launched by the government department. |
