COOPERATION PROJECTS

Progressive Women's Association has among its goals the development of programs of international development cooperation, including in all the actions of a gender perspective and an approach from the budgets of the co-development and local development.

Our entity is taking action for development cooperation from 2004-2005, promoting various programs, projects and activities, from training, networking of direct intervention. In this sense, the work areas set out so far are two: Morocco and Portugal.

COOPERATION
WITH THE NEIGHBORING COUNTRY

The work of cooperation with Morocco began in 2004-2005 and is focused mainly in the northern neighboring country (region Tangier – Tetouan). Within this area has developed various programs and projects, among them:

• Border Classroom Volunteer Training Social Standing: A program in which volunteers share the social relevance and international development cooperation. It develops continuously since 2005 with colaboracioón Social Volunteer Area of the General Direction of Social Services and inclusion of the Consejería for Equality and Social Welfare of the Junta de Andalucía and La Fundación La Caixa.
• Project 'Among Women': Project for the empowerment and strengthening of civil society from the perspective of gender. This is a forum for training specifically aimed at women belonging to social organizations and movements that require specific training for participation in public space and the exercise of leadership. In this training process is working to create the necessary conditions for building a society based on equal opportunities between women and men, so it also works with men from this program. This project has the support of Solidarity area of the Excma. Diputación Provincial en Cádiz, the Foundation "Two Shores" of the Excma. • Program 'Let's Walk Together': Through this program have made a number of implementation actions and coordinated efforts and networking with other women's associations in northern Morocco, but is a program with capacity for action in other areas. Within this program is part of the collaboration carried out for the celebration of Hispanic - Moroccan Meeting: 'Violence against women: different realities, different visions and strategies', organized by the Association Sahida Al Horra, the Association 'Entrepueblos' and Progressive Women's Association 'Victoria Kent', and counted with the collaboration of the Ministry of Social Welfare of Morocco, the Catalan Agency for International Development Cooperation, the Foundation "Two Shores" and the Delegation of International Cooperation of the Excmo. COOPERATION
WITH THE NEIGHBORING COUNTRY

The Association of Progressive Women 'Victoria Kent' began working on a line of cooperation with the neighboring country since 2006, focusing particularly but not limited to, the prevention and treatment of all forms of violence, especially violence gender. In this line, since then have developed programs and projects designed to emphasize and strengthen this line of work. The work areas have been the Portuguese regions of Alentejo and Algarve, while they have established contacts with other areas too.

OF COOPERATION WITH PORTUGAL

This collaborative process between the two countries has been carried out through the following projects:

'Voices of the South': 'Women United for Equality' in 2006.

'Networks for Cooperation on Equal Opportunities'. Spain - Portugal: 2007.

'Hispanic - Portuguese Meeting of Cooperation for the Prevention and Treatment of Gender Violence': 2008.

Through them we worked on the creation of networks to promote the prevention and treatment of gender violence and the promotion of effective equality between women and men in all spheres of society.

To this end, we had the cooperation and funding of the Consejería de la Presidencia de la Junta de Andalucía, the Delegation of International Cooperation of the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Algeciras, the Fundación Municipal de Bienestar Social of the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Algeciras and the Foundation 'Two Shores' of the Excma. Diputación Provincial de Cádiz and the Cámara Municipal de Évora. Also has enjoyed the cooperation of other entities, be they social, Spanish and Portuguese, with whom he has established an important network, as the Security Forces of the State of Spain (National Police, Guardia Civil Local Police and Algeciras) and Portugal (Public Security Police and National Republican Guard).
